About the Artist
Ewa Podles is a Polish-born contemporary painter, mural artist and interior designer based in the United Kingdom. A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, she creates works that exist at the intersection of fine art, emotion and spatial experience.
Her artistic practice is driven by a fascination with light, colour and the emotional dialogue between people and the spaces they inhabit. Through expressive figurative painting and abstraction, she explores themes of presence, memory, femininity and transformation, creating works that invite contemplation rather than simply observation.
Working with layered textures and luminous colour, Ewa seeks to create paintings that evoke a sense of stillness and emotional connection. Her acclaimed Madonna series reflects on the strength, vulnerability and resilience carried through generations of women, while her abstract works investigate the quiet relationship between light, atmosphere and human perception.
Alongside her studio practice, Ewa has a deep passion for interior design and the creation of meaningful environments. She believes that art should never be an isolated object but an essential part of a space-one that shapes its character, enhances its atmosphere and enriches the experience of those who inhabit it. This philosophy naturally extends into her bespoke mural commissions for private residences, hotels and commercial interiors, where she creates site-specific works that become integral to the architecture and identity of each place.
Her work has been exhibited throughout the United Kingdom, including the Society of Women Artists Annual Exhibition, ING Discerning Eye, Bankside Hotel in London and the Affordable Art Fair. She is the recipient of the Rosemary & Co Award and the Meynell Fenton Prize.
