Renato Veronesi

Renato Veronesi
From behind the lens to behind the easel, Renato Veronesi’s creative journey has come full circle in the heart of the Engadin. Milanese by birth, Engadiner by soul, Renato lives and paints between Italy and the alpine village of Bever, Switzerland, near St. Moritz. In the early 1970s, he took part in the very first Engadin Ski Marathons and went on to become one of its official photographers, capturing thousands of skiers in motion with his camera. Today, he captures those same sweeping scenes not through the lens of a camera, but through the lens of his bare eye conducting his brush on the canvas. His watercolor paintings often echo the same aerial perspectives, transforming Engadin’s sports and landscapes into rhythmic patterns and vibrant silhouettes.
