Sabina Plamenova

Sabina Saya (Plamenova) is a London-based Italian-Bulgarian-British artist whose work explores themes of belonging, social connection, and techno-political realities through the study of symbolism, nature, and folklore, currently taking inspiration from (but not only) Bulgarian traditional imagery.

Having lived in Italy, the UK, and Germany, and of Bulgarian heritage, she looks at the world through a lens of curiosity and motion. Previously active as a sound artist and music producer, she experiments with mediums beyond their expected application or use, combining playfulness with appreciating and respecting the crafts she explores in their tradition. Following her music technology studies in London, she completed a postgraduate degree in the former Department of Cultural Studies at Goldsmiths University.

Combining acrylic drawings on wood boards with bespoke installations, she creates magical landscapes that are an invitation to unity and fun. Fullness of colour, senses, and shapes becomes the heart of a joyful space that audiences are invited to jump into.

She also works as a researcher and runs the London-based culture platform and publication GLUH, exploring belonging across various formats, from print to creative workshops and activations
