Pavel Kir
Pavel Kir is recognized as one of the most distinctive artistic voices of his generation and the founder of Surgical Surrealism — a contemporary movement that merges methodical precision with transformative, psychological depth. A multidisciplinary creator working across painting, StripleP (Street Post-Photography Painting), performance, and multimedia installations, Kir approaches the human condition with the analytical rigor of a surgeon and the imagination of a poet.
Born in the Soviet Union, he started his artistic practice in southern Spain, he developed an aesthetic system in which disciplined analysis coexists with intuitive experimentation. Drawing on an inner dialogue with figures such as Malevich, Bacon, Magritte, Miró, Beardsley, Sorrentino, Parajanov, Vasarely, and Basquiat, he transformed personal experience into a universal artistic philosophy carried through Europe, the Middle East, and the United States.
“Line is my instrument of truth,” Kir states. His dynamic compositions explore aging, time, fear, and resilience. Through painting, ink, oils, and his signature StripleP interventions, he creates what he calls “artistic interventions in human consciousness,” revealing hidden emotional structures beneath the everyday world.
Kir’s international recognition includes the Premio Metastasio (Italy), the International Biennale in Sicily, World Art Dubai 2025, Art Shopping at the Louvre 2025, and honours at the Better World Fund Gala during the 82nd Venice Film Festival. His work was also distinguished at the AI Film Awards – Venice Second Edition for its synthesis of art and emerging technologies. Selected by Almine Rech for the Singulart platform (where he was named among the Top 30 artists in Spain) Kir has been featured in curatorial selections such as Legacy and Tribute, Second Skin, and Dot Line Dash. His art has appeared in major publications including Numéro Switzerland, Numéro Netherlands, Harper’s Bazaar Serbia, Maison & Jardin, and Maria Callas Quarterly, and is held in private and institutional collections across Europe and America.
Beyond the visual arts, Kir extends his practice to large-scale performance works, including LA DIVINA: The Eternal Callas at the White Palace in Belgrade and the one-act ballet Vivere!, affirming his position as a true multidisciplinary artistic innovator.
